About Kit Domino
Kit Domino is a self-taught international-selling and award-winning artist working mainly with acrylics. A Gold member of the SAA (Supporting All Artists, formerly known as the Society of All Artists) plus Chair and Treasurer of the SAA Frome Valley Art Group in South Gloucestershire, where she hosts occasional workshops and paintalongs in acrylics.
Kit loves painting landscapes: both real, many from photographs taken on her travels, and imaginary, along with some floral works, wildlife and occasionally contemporary/abstract work. It was by chance in 2006 she stumbled into the glorious world of acrylic painting (read how here) and has not looked back since. Her main inspiration is the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside surrounding where she lives, her love of flowers and nature, along with the many beautiful places she has visited both in the UK and abroad. Her work has sold to Germany, Spain, Canada, the USA and Australia as well as the UK.
Her first large painting “Snowglow” (below) was entered into the Spring 2009 Winsor & Newton on-line art competition where it ranked in the top 40 from over 600 entrants.
Sold by auction, the money raised from Snowglow was donated to help sponsor a very special little boy with cerebral palsy through the Footsteps Foundation, a specialist unit in Oxfordshire that helps children with neurological disorders. Carrying a lot of pride along with the artwork in her suitcase, Kit took great delight in being able to deliver the painting in person to the purchasers in Spain. It now hangs in their apartment as a vibrant reminder of winters in chilly Britain.
In 2011, Yarm Originals Art Gallery offered to show two of Kit’s works. This was followed in November 2011 with the Art Gallery UK, based in Tetbury, Gloucestershire accepting three paintings. In June 2012, her first public exhibition was held at the Loveahappyending Summer Audience, also in Tetbury.
In May 2018, five works were displayed at a public art exhibition in Winterbourne, South Gloucestershire which resulted in a sale and a commission. Many successful exhibitions there have followed since. In January 2019, Kit began teaching “Acrylics for Beginners” at art groups in South Gloucestershire and running workshops.

In mid 2025, Kit, along with two other artists, was given the opportunity to display artwork at a holiday let/retreat in Devon, and is currently busy putting together a collection suitable paintings to hang there, as well as working on a commission which will be her largest canvas to date.
As well as an artist, Kit is an award-winning novelist, an enthusiastic and knowledgable gardener who blogs on these subjects along with art and painting. You can find out more about Kit and her work on the following websites.
