Welcome to my world in acrylics

I am a self-taught international-selling artist with paintings sold in Germany, Spain, Canada, and America as well as numerous clients within the UK.

Working in acrylics, and occasionally pastels, I paint landscapes: real, many from photographs on my travels, and imaginary, along with some floral works and have recently started working on wildlife pictures, especially birds. It was quite by chance in 2006 I stumbled into the glorious world of acrylic painting (read how here) and haven’t looked back since. My favourite subject matter and inspiration is the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside where I live, my love of flowers and nature, along with the many beautiful places I have visited abroad.

Snowglow was my first large painting. Entered into the Spring 2009 Winsor & Newton on-line art competition, it ranked in the top 40 from over 600 entrants.

Later sold by auction, the money raised by Snowglow was donated in order raise funds to help sponsor a very special little boy with cerebral palsy through the Footsteps Foundation, a specialist unit in Oxfordshire that helps children with neurological disorders. Carrying a lot of pride along with the artwork in my suitcase, I took great delight in being able to deliver the painting in person to the purchasers in Spain. It now hangs in their apartment as a vibrant reminder of winters in chilly Britain.

In 2011, Yarm Originals Art Gallery offered to show two of my paintings in their gallery. This was followed in November 2011 with the Art Gallery UK, based in Tetbury, Gloucestershire accepting three of my works for their online gallery. In June 2012, My first exhibition was held in Tetbury, Gloucestershire, at the Loveahappyending Summer Audience, resulting in a sale.

In May 2018, five works were displayed at a public art exhibition in Winterbourne, South Gloucestershire which resulted in achieving a red dot and a commission.  In January 2019, I began teaching “Acrylics for Beginners” at an art group in South Gloucestershire, with a further course scheduled for November 2019. In May 2019, several of my beginner students exhibited work, resulting in several sales, along with two of my paintings also being sold that day.

If your art group seeks a tutor in acrylics, please do get in touch to discuss using my contact page. Note: I currently only work within a 30 mile radius of Bristol.

Most of the paintings displayed on this site are available to purchase. Should you wish to buy a work or require further information, please contact me through the comments box.   Pieces are also available as prints and printed onto goods such as bags and mugs, pens etc making ideal gifts. Again, contact me for details.

This site is still in the process of being put together. Prices and sizes of artwork will be added in due course. All prices quoted exclude postage/packaging/delivery. They can be supplied framed or unframed. What I am not is a skilled photographer. The images captured in the various Galleries here do not do the paintings full justice. I offer a full money-back guarantee if not completely satisfied with any purchase.

I accept commissions but note that I do not paint pets/animals but do paint the occasional bird. Nor do I do portraits. Well, not yet anyway! You can contact me via email (kitdominoart at gmail dot com) should you wish to purchase artwork or discuss a commission. There is also a contact form for your convenience included within this site.

I also will be posting blogs on art and painting which I hope will be of interest.

As well as an artist, I am also a novelist, gardener and food blogger. You can find out more about me on my sister websites: Kit Domino and Kit’s Kitchen

Thank you for visiting.
